Evelyn Butler Corbin Toney, 82, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on January 22, 2024.

She was born on November 2, 1941 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Evelyn accepted Christ at an early age at the Highland Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Samuel B. Scott.

She graduated from Coleman High School in 1960. She worked at NCTR for a short time. She then became a Claims Specialist at State Farm Insurance. She dearly loved her State Farm family. In 1987, Evelyn attended night classes until she earned a bachelor's degree (Cum Laude) in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Evelyn was a very outgoing person who enjoyed participating in various activities. She enjoyed traveling the country during her time as a military spouse. She was a race car driver, having won many races. She also won numerous trophies as a member of a Wednesday night bowling league. Evelyn was a member of the Elks of the World and the Order of Eastern Star. She was one of the Founders of Jada Lam De Social and Civic Club, where she was the oldest active member. She also enjoyed hosting parties at her home with family and friends during UAPB Homecoming.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, husband, Curtis Corbin; her second husband, Willie Toney, Jr; her parents, General Hayward Butler, Sr. and Jessie Dell Plant-Butler; and three sisters: Dorothy Butler, Deloise Butler, and Beverly Ann Butler.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Curtis Lee Corbin, Jr. (Bonita) of Pine Bluff; her step-children: James Toney of Rayville, LA, Lee Roy Toney of Rayville, LA, and Sherry Toney of Rayville, LA; five grandchildren: Dr. Anitha L. Williams of Reston, VA, Tamela Ferguson of Pine Bluff, Lakeisha Newton of Pine Bluff, Curtis Corbin III of Pine Bluff, and Michelle Corbin of Pine Bluff; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers: General Butler Jr. (Betty) of Pine Bluff, Jesse L. Butler (Beverly) of Pine Bluff, and Andre Butler (Shelia) of Little Rock; two sisters, Aloise Scott of Milwaukee, WI and Linda Hill of North Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral services will be held in Highland Ministries Church in Pine Bluff, AR with Pastor Christopher L. Mack officiating. The internment services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pine Bluff, AR.
