"A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take."
- Cardinal Meymillod
On the evening of March 5th 2010 our beloved mother was taken from us way too soon. Junealee Seay was born at home on June 23, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
June was the daughter of Mattie Emma (Burks) Seay, She was raised as the daughter of Claudie Wootson Seay. However, in 2013 the results of an autosomal DNA test on a male Seay cousin surprised us all. We learned that she was not biologically a Seay. DNA testing of multiple close family members and some more distant relatives confirmed she was a Burks.
About 1952 June moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma with her mom and new stepdad Walter Abernathy.
Her siblings being so much older were already grown and starting families of their own.
June was soft spoken, kind hearted, and compassionate. Always willing to help others.
She had a limited education, but she understood social injustice. Expressing the importance of voting. Especially for women's rights. "Every vote counts."
She loved all animals although, cats were her favorite. You'd often find her in clothing with cat designs on them. She loved thrift stores. Walking around just to look, often telling the younger grandkids they were going to the "look store."
When the kids would asks about that she'd tell them "we're just going to look, not to buy."
Those who proceeded her in death; mother Mattie Emma (Burks) Seay, Claudie Wootson Seay; brothers; Lenuel Seay, Clifford Seay, sister Jewel Dean Seay; spouse's Roger Williams Sr; Phillip Plummer.
Those that were left to mourn her passing daughter Debbora Rider (Tracy); Sons James Morales, Roger Williams, Rodney Williams; Grandchildren she and Phillip adopted and raised as their own; Michael Plummer (Elisha); Christopher Morales; Sarah Still (Brandon); Timothy Plummer; Six-Grandchildren ; Angel Jones-Percy, Autumn Rider, Travis Rider; Justin Williams; Wambleeska Williams, and Wanageeska Williams.
