Leslie was the son of Martin P. and Sarah Zink Bonar. He married Julia E. White, 26 Jun 1912, Licking County, Ohio. They had four children.

BONAR—in Santa Rosa, July 20, 1965, Leslie Garfield Bonar, dearly beloved husband of Julia Bonar of Santa Rosa; beloved father of Nelson Bonar of Fullerton, Leland Bonar, Redding; Charles Bonar and Mrs. Mary Edna Ray both of Santa Rosa, and Jack Giacopazzi of Newark, California. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A member of the First Presbyterian Church and Santa Rosa Lodge 57, F&AM. A native of West Virginia, age is 83 years.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services Friday, July, 23, 1965 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Egger and Lance Mortuary. Reverend David Barnett, Jr. of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Private inurnment Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Those desiring may contribute to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Pediatric Fund.
