Leroy Wayne Wood of Omaha, AR, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, at the age of 78. He was born in Berryville on August 5, 1944.

Leroy was a passionate NASCAR fan, and he spent many years racing cars locally at many of the area tracks. He was an Arkansas Razorbacks fan, and he loved fishing and spending time on the lake. He spent most of his career working in sales. Many people will remember him when he worked at Castle Pawn Shop and Sears in Harrison. He loved working with people, telling stories, and joking around. He was a graduate of Green Forest High School, and he was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha.

Leroy is survived by his children, Randy Wood of Oklahoma and Debi Wood-Richardson of Phoenix, AZ; 2 sisters, Linda Tresler and her husband Sam of Berryville, and Brenda Caivano and her husband Dominic of Glens Falls, NY; brother-in-law Ernest Ramsey of Harrison; and many nieces and nephews and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Louise Cooper Wood, and 1 sister, Diana Ramsey.

Celebration of Life service for Leroy will be Friday, May 5 at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Green Forest with Rev. Gary Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM just prior to the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha or to The Gideons.
