Diana L. Ramsey, 71, a resident of Harrison, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at her home.

She was born September 12, 1951, in Eureka Springs to Dean Alonzo and Emma Louise Cooper Wood. She married Ernest Ray Ramsey on September 19, 1969, at Berryville. Diana loved serving people and pursued a career in nursing in order to help others in their time of need. After graduating from Berryville High School in 1969, she began working at Boone County Hospital while attending LPN school at Twin Lakes VoTech School. When North Arkansas Community College added an RN degree, she enrolled and graduated from their first RN class. She continued working at Boone County Hospital until 1980 when she began service at Boone County Health Unit. Diana served as Nurse Coordinator at the Health Unit and then Regional Assistant Patient Care Manager for 19 counties in the northwest region for the Arkansas Department of Health before she retired after 28 years. During her career with the Health Department, she was awarded Public Health Nurse of the Year for the state of Arkansas. She was a member of the Batavia Assembly of God where she served as church secretary for close to 20 years and was the Sanctuary Class Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved to study the Word of God and loved teaching God's Word. She loved hiking and being in God's beautiful creation, enjoying nature. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ernest Ramsey of Harrison; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Faron Usrey of Carrollton; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Abigail and Jacob Usrey, both of Carrollton; a brother, Leroy Wood of Berryville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Sam Tresler of Berryville and Brenda and Dominic Caivano of Glens Falls, New York; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Holt Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tollie J. Sutterfield and the Rev. Phillip C. Collie II officiating. Burial will be in Capps Cemetery near Harrison under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.

Active pallbearers will be Faron and Jacob Usrey, Buddy Mills, Billy Conklin, Byron Carter, and Steve Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be all the men at Batavia Assembly of God.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home.
