She was born to the late Floyd and Beatrice Blackwell of Forsyth, Missouri, on October 6, 1940, in Powersite Missouri. Iris graduated high school in 1958 from School of the Ozarks.
Iris and her husband Arnold retired to Grants Pass from Tucson, Arizona, in 1999 where they enjoyed being campground host and the changing seasons.
Iris is survived by daughters Bobbie Beecher of League City, Texas, and Paula Clark and husband Rick of Grants Pass, Oregon, and stepson Scott Hollenbeak of Arizona. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Carol Beaman of Missouri, and Margaret Pedroza of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Hollenbeak, her son Freddie Gregg, stepsons Rick and Jamie Hollenbeak, and stepdaughter Cathy Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Doug Blackwell, Dan Blackwell, Darrel Blackwell and Dwight Blackwell.
Iris loved walking her dog Jenny by the Rogue River, reading was her passion, she enjoyed water aerobics, which she did faithfully three days a week for 24 years. She was an avid bingo and bunco player and any other games she could get people to play with her. But most of all she enjoyed telling all of us what to do. She will be truly missed.
