Jerry Collins, 71, of Athens, TN passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Jerry was a member of Victory Baptist Church. His love for Jesus was evident. He shared that love with all the youth in the area by teaching them and by his actions. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed spending time by the Hiwassee River.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Jean Collins; brother, Steve Collins; sisters, Ann Murphy and Cathy Hale; son, Niles Brandon Collins.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Rhonda Collins; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Toby Shanahan, Stacey and Brad Hester, and Jeri and Jeremy Greene; grandchildren, Jacob Wayne Stiles and his girlfriend, Kamilya Green, Colby Shanahan and her boyfriend, Tyler Rayburn, Kassidy Kent and her husband, Jordan, Emma Hester, Bradley Greene, Brentley Greene, and McKinley Greene; great-grandchildren, Jameson Wayne Stiles, Tinley and Ellie Green; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Robert Everhart; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Mike Davis.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Hester and Pastor Jimmy Elliott officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service in Green Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
