West Shokan, Feb. 11. -- The funeral of Mathias Burger which was held from his late home on Friday afternoon, February 8, was one of the largest ever held in the town of Olive. The esteem in which the deceased was held was marked by the attendance at the funeral of people from nearby communities and places many miles from here. The floral offerings were very numerous, and the casket was encased in a blanket of roses. Elder Rustin of the Old School Baptist Church deliver the sermon. Interment was in the Bushkill Cemetery.
