Arthur Ballanger, Jr., 70, was born June 29, 1953, in Blowing Springs, GA, to the late Arthur Ballanger, Sr. and Rosemary Howard Ballanger. He departed this life on Monday, December 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his beloved family.
Arthur was a graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School. He was a member of the gospel group The Chosen Sons, serving as the bass guitarist and pianist for many years.
Arthur was preceded in death by both his parents; brother, Gregory Ballanger; stepdaughters, Veronica Hubbard and Shanica Smith.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife, Dewanda Ballanger; daughter, Shaneka Pulliam; granddaughters, TaSasha Pulliam, Keyonna Tipton, Janaiyah Green, Gianna Smith; grandsons, Demetrius Carter, Jr., DeJuan (Angela) Tipton, Devontay Tipton, KenTray Tipton, Jordon Tipton, Gabriel Smith Landon Smith and Karter Smith; brother, Randy Ballanger; stepdaughters, Renita Smith and Lashanda (Dwight) Tipton; stepson, Gregory B. Smith, Jr., all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A special friend of the family, Gloria Pulliam Ganett.
Public viewing will be held from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, Saturday, January 13, 2024, followed immediately by a 3:00 PM funeral service, in the chapel of the funeral home.
