CHARLES A. HASSEL, SR., DEAD
   In ill health for the past four years. Charles A. Hassel, Sr., aged 55, a well known resident of the West Side, died Wednesday at his home, 386 Chestnut avenue, Kingston. Mr. Hassel was chief clerk for Royer Manufacturing Company. He was born at Mauch Chunk, but had resided in this section since the age of four years.
   A man of quiet habits and modest manner, Mr. Hassel endeared himself to hundreds during his long residence on the West Side. He was a member of Lodge 61, F. and A. M., Camp 169, Sons of Veterans, and Grace Episcopal Church.
   Besides his widow, the former Sadie Edwards, daughter of Thomas R. Edwards, of Edwardsville, he is survived by two sons, Thomas of this city and Charles, Jr., at home; a grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Janet Kropp and Mrs. Theodore Rush, and a brother, Harry, all of this city.
   The funeral is to be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with services at the residence by Rev. Ralph A. Weatherly. pastor of Grace Episcopal Church. Burial will be in the family plot at Forty Fort Cemetery.
