Mr. Magill co-founded the Gilbert-Magill Co. 21 years ago and was senior vice-president. He began his career with the Missouri Inspection Bureau and later was associated with Thomas McGee and Sons. He was a past president and board member of Westport Cooperative Services; vice-president of the Westport Allen Center; secretary of Independence Insurance Agents of Missouri; board member of the Trader's Mutual Fire Insurance Co. and Intersure; and past president of the South Central Business-men's Association. He was a member and trustee of the Village United Presbyterian Church.
He graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was born in Topeka and had lived in this area 36 years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marjorie M. Magill of the home; four sons, Stephen Holm Magill of Olathe, Larry W. Magill, Jr., of Topeka, and Kent B. Magill and Richard S. Magill, both of Kansas City; a daughter, Mrs, Marla A. Leach of New Braunfels, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Barbara J. Wilson of Sheboygan, Wis.; his mother, Mrs. Evelyn Magill of Topeka; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church; private burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, February 26, 1983
