Kathy Jean (Aydelott) Petersen was born on December 5, 1950 to Andrew and Nona (Curtis) Aydelott in Yuma, Colorado. She passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 73, at the Hillcrest Care Center in Wray, Colorado.
Kathy graduated from Lone Star High School and attended Beauty School.
Kathy married Ronald Eugene Petersen on March 13, 1976 in Holyoke, Colorado. They spent thirty-five years together before Ron's passing on June 7, 2011.
Kathy had various occupations first of all as a Beautician, she also worked at Popcorn Shack, cooked at Woody's Drive In and mowed lawns beside her brother, Stan.
Kathy enjoyed cooking and trying out new recipes on family. She enjoyed playing with her nieces and nephews and watching them grow up. Kathy had a very jolly personality and a great laugh and she enjoyed spending time with others.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, Ron; Parents, Lester and Nona Aydelott; one brother, Ronnie Aydelott; one sister, Sharrie Ellis; one great niece and twin nephews.
She is survived by her two brothers, Terry Aydelott of Haxtun, Colorado and Stan Aydelott of Yuma, Colorado. Nieces, Angie White (Brandon) of Akron, Colorado; Nikki Burrows of Greeley, Colorado; Terra Schriener (Raymond) of Alton, Oklahoma; Shaunna Swenson (Ben) of Haxtun, Colorado; Nephews, Troy Kent of Holyoke, Colorado; Damon Ellis (Debbie) of Holyoke, Colorado along with numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
Service – Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Yuma, Colorado with Mike Mueller and Mitch Korf officiating. Interment will follow at the Yuma Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.--Baucke Funeral Home
