Dora LaJeunesse was born on September 12, 1953, in Gallup, New Mexico.
On December 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, she went home to be with the Lord. Dora was 70 years young, and she was a devoted mother, nana, godmother, sister, auntie and friend.
Everyone who knew Dora, loved her for her fun, caring, and giving nature. Dora was welcoming to everyone she met, and her most favorite treasure was spending time with her girls and her family.
Her fur babies, Orejon and Chiquita brought her much joy, as well as listening to her birds, Rosita and Beto, serenading her daily.
Dora loved to dance to KANW music, especially with her late husband, Guillermo. Dora loved Christmas time, baking at least 6,000 different types and shapes of Christmas cookies and made at least 100 dozen tamales for the entire family to enjoy. It was her labor of love.
Dora was full of life and enjoyed making countless memories, spending time with the entire family on camping trips, vacations to Las Vegas, California and Bluewater, where she enjoyed playing pool and card games. Close to home, some of Dora's best memories were hosting large back-yard parties with family, friends, and lots of music and dancing.
Dora is survived by her daughters, Beatrice "Dolly" Cervantes and her wife. Cecy, Jessie Zamora and her husband, Paul and grandson, Pablito Zamora and granddaughter, Jasmine Kelley. Dora's surviving siblings are her brother, John Cervantes and his wife, Veronica, sister, Phyllis "Bug" Blea and her husband, Andrew and many nephews and nieces.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo, of 36 years, her parents, Joe and Betty Cervantes, her sisters, Frances Cervantes and Irene Sena and her brother, Anthony "Mofe" Cervantes.
Dora's spirit touched the lives of so many people. Dora was beautiful, special, kind and genuine. Memories of Dora will be held forever in the hearts of all who were honored to know such an extraordinary woman.
