Darroll E. Herin, 95, of Hesperia, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 in Muskegon, Mich. He was born Dec. 16, 1919 in Newfield Township to Henry and Alice (Rowe) Herin.
He married Veva Conroy July 23, 1938. Darroll was a World War II Army veteran.
He and his brother, Everett founded Herin Brothers Trucking, Inc. He was a member of Ferry United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Fremont VFW Post # 6898 and had been a member of the Hesperia Lions Club.
Darroll is survived by his wife of 77 years, Veva; his children, Terry (Jan) Herin and Dan (Diane) Herin; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Herin; sister, Betty (Edwin) Dean; step-sister, Vivian Plaunt; sister-in-law, Jean Herin; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Herin; granddaughter, Devlon (Katrina); brothers, Everett and Henry "Hank" Herin; sisters, Julia Hodge Virginia Mallison and Ruth Archer; and step-sister, Leola Aschbacker.
Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 8 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. Interment will be in West Hesperia Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Ferry Methodist Church.
