Smyrna, March 12-On Tuesday March the ninth, 1926, as the sun sunk below the western hills of her home, Ella Mary Sullivan tranquilly completed her earthly life in its seventy-third year. At the bedside were her husband, her brother and sister, and her only son. Mrs. Sullivan was born in the township of Smyrna, in which she has resided throughout her life, excepting a period of seven years spent in Norwich, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary White Stack, who came to this country in the early fifties, from County Clare, Ireland, of which both were natives. Her parents, meeting first in this country, were married about a year later at Sherburne, and shortly removed to this township in which they resided thenceforth. Ella Stack was married in 1885 to Timothy J. Sullivan of Norwich, and three sons were born. Two passed away in infancy and a third, Harry Stack Sullivan, M.D., survives. He is director in research in Sheppard Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, an associate professor of psychiatry in the University of Maryland Medical school and a psychiatrist of some note. Of the Stack family a brother Edmund J. died several years ago. There survive a brother, John B. Stack, an attorney in the government service at Washington, D.C. and a sister, Margaret A. Stack, for many
years past associated with the public school system of New York City. Burial was at Sherburne, from St. Malachy's church, on March 12th, the Rev. Raymond P. Lawerence solemnizing the funeral mass. (Published in the Telegraph Friday, March 12, 1926)
