Adao Aguiar, 75, of Methuen, MA, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Melo) Aguiar.

Adao was born and raised in St. Michael, Azores and moved to the United States in 1978. Adao loved his family more than anything, he was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to spend time with his loving wife of fifty-one years, Elmira (Santos) Aguiar. He was a kind, selfless man who always put his family first. He enjoyed listening to music, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren who were his world.

Along with his parents, Adao is predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Aguiar, as well as his siblings, Jose Manuel Aguiar, and Pedro Aguiar.

Adao will be deeply missed and is survived by the love of his life, Elmira (Santos) Aguiar; children, Marco Aguiar, Patricia Aguiar and her husband Wilfredo Castro; grandchildren, Marcus Castro, Camron Castro, Precious Leon, and Misheylla Leon; sisters, Eva Aguiar, Conceicao Aguiar; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Holy Rosary Shrine, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence. Entombment will follow at Eternal Light Mausoleum, 23 Pond Street, Salem, NH.
