Grandpa Jerry (Harry) with his third wife Pearl in front of the barbershop in Eagle Rock, California. The picture was taken about 1965. Pearl Dimple Johnson was born 7 Feb 1902 in Chestnut Mound, Tennessee and passed away 10 May 1994 in Yucca Valley, California. Her first husband was Amzira Reynolds who died at only 48 years of age 27 Dec 1950. Pearl married Jerry Cooper on 10 May 1953 in Downey, Los Angeles, California, USA

In 1953, Jerry (Harry) swept Pearl off her feet... quite literally... as they enjoyed many a night on the dance floor. Pearl would later describe it as "divine!" And, when she was preparing to go to assist her daughter Anne with the birth of her first child, Jerry insisted that they marry as he was afraid that she would meet someone who would steal her away from him. Jerry and Pearl were married May 13, 1953. In the photo, Jerry is in the middle with Pearl under his right arm (photo left). (The other lady is unknown.)
