His Obituary from the Los Angeles County Lancaster Newspaper read:

Flower, Eugene A., Age 87, (Tuesday) April 10, 1991, in Lancaster. He is survived by his wife Margaret Flower of Lancaster, daughter Betty Pera and husband Paul, of Honalulu, Hawaii; son Eugene Becker and wife Estella, of Illinois and granddaughter Connie DeWildy of Illinois. Mr. Flower was a member of Lancaster Lodge #437 F&AM, the Al Malaikah Temple of Los Angeles, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Pasadena, Antelope Valley Shrine Club, Wild Flower Grange #663, and Pomona Grange #39. Services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Halley-Olsen Funeral Chapel, Lancaster with interment to follow at Joshua Memorial Park. Friends may call 4-8 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Born the 11th child of Adelbert Eugene and Margaret Elizabeth Lewellen Flower as a Jr. He, however, went by Eugene and most of his records are as Eugene A Flower.

He and his first wife Marian took the son of his sister Myrtle Verona Flower Adams to raise when she passed away in childbirth with her third child. When Billy's father passed away four years later in 1937 he and Marian adopted Billy.

When they divorced Marian took "Billy" and moved to Washington State, while Eugene remained in California.

She never remarried but Eugene met and married Margaret C. Reel and spent the remainder of his life with her.
