Obituary from the Steuben Republican, 4 Apr 1906. page 7.

Mrs. Pliny Roby

Anna Earl was born in Onondaga county, New York, April 13, 1829, and died at her home in Waterloo, In., March 29, 1906, aged 76 years, 11 months and 15 days. At the age of about seven her parents moved to LaGrange county and a few years later to Steuben county, settling first just east of Angola and later two miles north of Hamilton. In her maidenhood she taught school in the eastern part of Steuben county, and many pioneers will remember her as their early teacher. In the latter part of the fifties she was married to Dr. M. C. Kent, who had located at Hamilton where she was teaching. After a widowhood of many years she was married to Pliny Roby in March, 1892, and has been a resident of Waterloo since that time, with the exception of the summers spent a the farm near Lake James in Steuben county.

She united with the Methodist church at a very early age, and remained a steadfast member in the teachings of that church throughout her long life. She was woman of exceptionally stong character; a true friend of a genial nature. She was one of a family of six children, of whom George Earl, of Danville, Ill., is the sole survivor. Funeral services were held at Waterloo last Monday and the reamins were brought to Angola for burial in Circle Hill.

Note - the name Earll fluctuates to Earl and Earle in the family.
