Odell Clinton Atwood III, "PaPa Odie", passed away at the age of 78 on Monday, January 30, 2023, in Grapevine, Texas.

Odell was born December 20, 1944, to Odell Clinton Atwood II and Helene Ruth Atwood in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1963, and from the University of Tulsa in 1968 with a degree in Special Education while maintaining a position on the President's Honor Roll.

Odell was preceded in death by his father, Odell Clinton Atwood II and his mother, Helene Ruth Atwood; and by both his paternal and maternal grandparents, including his beloved Alta Joyce "Bambi" King.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Atwood and wife, Michelle; daughter, Ann Castro and husband Chris; son, Jon Atwood and wife, Mary; four grandchildren, Rachel Roberts, Michael Atwood, Megan Moffatt and Nathan Atwood; as well as two beautiful great-granddaughters, whom he adored, in addition to several members of his extended family.

A graveside service will be held to honor Odell at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth at a later date.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made out to the Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of North Texas. Odell also loved his granddogs!
