Kenneth Campbell was born January 3, 1794/95 to Angus and Margaret Campbell in South Dell, Ness Barvas, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. On April 6, 1818, he married Gormelia Dorothy MacLeod on the Isle of Lewis. He was a lay preacher and, in 1863, he and his wife emigrated to Canada.

Together, Kenneth and his wife had eight children, including Roderick, Henrietta, Norman K., Ann, Mary Dora, Murdo Kenneth, John K. and Angus Campbell, all born in South Dell, Scotland.

His first wife died in 1845, and on April 22, 1852, he married Mary Smith in Scotland. Together, they had one daughter, Mary Campbell, who was born in 1856 in Bragar, Isle of Lewis, Scotland.

He died on January 15, 1876 in Compton County, Quebec, Canada, and a year and a half later, his second wife died at age 72. Both are buried in the Dell Cemetery.
