"William R. Bovard, 85, of 3614 Wyoming, died Saturday at St Luke's Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City.

Mr. Bovard was an architect. He was a charter member of the Missouri Association of Registered Architects and member emeritus of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He was a member of the Unity Society of Practical Christianity. He was a charter member of the Native Sons of Kansas City and a member of the 40-Year-Ago Column Club.

He leaves a son, Jack Bovard of Wilmington, Del.; a daughter, Mrs. Martha D. Johnson of Overland Park; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stine & McClure Chapel; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery." The Kansas City Star, November 8, 1971
