Mr. Bovard arrived here in 1879 from Pittsburgh on a river boat. He was a charter member of the Builder's association and was a member of the Community Christian church. His wife, the former Miss Annie Getty of Philadelphia, died two days after the celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1932. Mr. Bovard operated the Bovard Housemover and Raiser company from 1879 until he retired five years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Alice Bovard, Mrs. Winifred B. Warren and Mrs. Roy C. Biddison of the home; and two sons, William R. Bovard of 4809 Roanoke road, and Frank G. Bovard of Knoxville, Ia.
Services will be held at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday at the Freeman chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, June 2, 1947
