Mrs. Jo Ann Poole McCollum, age 82 of Toccoa passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Wilkinson Center in Toccoa.
A daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey Poole and Thelma Barnes Poole she was born October 7, 1939 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was a graduate of Toccoa High School. She was retired from Reliable Electric, a member of Hill Street Baptist Church, a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of the Stephens County Historical Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John McCollum, Sr. in 2008.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John H. McCollum, Jr. and Candice of Toccoa; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two brothers and sister-in-law, Larry Poole of Toccoa and Donald and Nancy Poole of Oakwood, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Henry Coker of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 5, 2022, 2 o'clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and The Reverend Paul Garrison officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Larry Poole, Ron Holland, Richie Bruce, Isaac Parker, Bill Ayers and Dwight Anderson.
