My Dad was (and is) one of the greatest men, EVER! Lots of fun, kind, loving and honorable. Hardly EVER saw him without a smile on his face. He is sorely missed by ALL that knew him...and, in particular: ME.

He served in the U. S. Navy in World War II after obtaining his Mother's permission to enlist at the age of 17. I found his Naval uniform, years later, and it looked as though it would fit a twelve year old. Daddy never was a large man, in stature (about 5'8" at his tallest), but he made up for that in the height within his heart. He never meant for ill to come to anyone or anything: just a very kind man.

Daddy worked at General Motors for thirty years. He was standing in line for the job when the plant in Arlington, Texas opened. Everyone at General Motors called Daddy "Red" because of his copper red hair (before he pretty-much lost it all). What little he had left: if he could grab it and pinch it between his index finger and thumb, he would say to Mama: "I'm gettin' to be a hippie, Mama: I need a haircut!". His mother, Vadah, called him Bill as an adult and still reverted to "Billy", occasionally. He was COMPLETELY covered with FRECKLES! :)

Bio:
Thomas William Brumett
Daddy was born in San Antonio, and spent his early years growing up in Big Lake, Reagan County, Texas.

Father: Tom Brumett (Papaw always said he had nmn and his name was Tom...not Thomas - but, I've also found records to dispute this claim) b. Oct 8, 1897, d. Mar 9, 1982)

Mother: Vadah Elizabeth Brown Brumett (b. Nov 12 1900, d. Apr 5, 1979)

Thomas William was the only child of Tom and Vadah Elizabeth Brown Brumett.

Married: Edna Lucille Newman Newman, December 1, 1951.

All My Love & Peace to You, FOREVER, My Daddy!
