After a short illness, Mrs. George W. Thatcher passed away last Wednesday at her home just North of Golden. Death was due directly to old age, she having reached the age of 80 years. Aside from her husband, who is now in California, deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Sanders, of this city and John, James and Harry Couch. Mrs. Thatcher was well known to a majority of the people of Jefferson County, as with her first husband, the late John Couch, she kept for years the hotel and toll station at the mouth of Golden gate canon. The remains were interred in Golden cemetery Sunday.
