Funeral Services for Mrs. Alta Lee Brewer, 87, were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, at McCrary-Waggoner-Edwards Chapel; with the Revs. H. H. Hunter and C.W. Gilbreath officiating. Burial was at Sharon Cemetery. Mrs. Brewer died Saturday, January 11, at Winnsboro Hospital. A Native of Conway County, Arkansas, Mrs. Brewer was born September 17, 1876. She had been a resident of Wood County since 1918. In 1896, she married J.B. Brewer, who died August 7, 1952. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include live children, L.B. Brewer of Winnsboro, C. E. Brewer and Clifton Brewer of Dallas, and O.C. Brewer of Garland; one brother, Homer Chambers of Winnsboro, 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wallace Russom, Archie Boseman, Bobby McElyea, Kenneth Gilbreath, Dick Loveless, and Santo Biasatti. Music was provided by Arthur Nichols.
