LARGEN-SKAGGS WEDDING
Married, at the home of the bride's parents near Belfast on Wednesday, September 4, 1901, at 11 A. M., Mr. Walter Largen of Newtonia and Miss Lucy Skaggs, Eld. G. S. Maness officiating.
Only relatives and a few intimate friends were present. The bride is the daughter of Eld. E. Skaggs, and is a most estimable and noble young lady, a fitting companion for the worthy young man whom she has chosen.
The groom is the oldest son of Eld. T. L. Largen of Newtonia, and is a young man of most estimable character, a model young man in every respect. He is industrious and a most successful young farmer.
The bride was handsomely attired in a cream colored dress, and the groom looked well in the conventional black.
The young couple returned to Newtonia last evening, and at present, are at home to their many friends at the groom's parents, but will go to housekeeping soon on a farm THE NEWS joins their many friends in extending best wishes.

Walter, who lived with his family in Baxter Springs, KS, was in Joplin, MO when he was hospitalized in Freeman Hospital because of a Cerebral Hemorrhage. He died 12 days later at 1:40 a.m. on March 21. He had lived 67 years, 7 months, & 10 days. His wife, Lucy, was the informant on his death certificate.
He was a police judge probate judge & justice of the peace in Cherokee County, Ks. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife Lucy, two sons F.W. & Cecil, one brother Logan & one granddaughter.
