Juanita "Janie" Gusman Cordoba, 100, of Lake Jackson, TX passed away October 12, 2023. She was born June 24, 1923 in Thomaston, TX to the late Luis Gusman, Sr. and Margarita Muniz Gusman.

Juanita was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary daily. She had a special bond with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories, not only for them, but also for those fortunate enough to have known her.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe Cordoba, Sr.; sisters Esther DeLeon and Belen Gusman; brother Luis Gusman, Jr., and daughter-in-law Mary Helen Gusman. Left to treasure an abundance of memories are her children Joe Cordoba, Jr. Jesse Cordoba, Jerry Cordoba (Elida), Julian Cordoba, Robert Cordoba (Betty), Eva Ramirez (Nick) and Margie Underwood (Raymond); sister Linda Perez and brother Phillip Gusman. Also left to cherish her memory are her 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The Rosary will be at 9:30 am Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City, TX. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am with Fr. Gabriel Espinosa officiant. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX. Pallbearers are James Robert Cordoba, Gregory Cordoba, Spencer Cordoba, Dustin Cordoba, Brian Ramirez, Derek Ramirez and Charlie Wilson, Jr.
