Rodger "Darrell" Fleetwood, age 88, a native of Jackson County, Indiana and a resident of Freetown, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Hoosier Christian Village. He was born on May 21, 1935 to the late Hayden Fleetwood and the late Anna (Anderson) Fleetwood. Rodger was a faithful member of Freetown Church of Christ for over 40 years. He will be remembered as a shy man that had a little jokester side to him. He was an excellent provider, hard worker who never complained. He was extremely protective of his family and loved them dearly, especially his grand and great grandchildren. Rodger loved motorcycles, especially taking motorcycle trips with his son. He was a member of the GWRRA Association. He enjoyed gardening and keeping his yard perfectly manicured. Rodger will forever be remembered for his famous peanut butter fudge. On October 27, 1957, he married the love of his life, Sharon (Pettay) Fleetwood, whom he loved as his queen and felt she walked on water.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon (Pettay) Fleetwood of Freetown, Indiana, one daughter, Becky Martin and her husband David of Freetown, Indiana. Two sons, Tim Fleetwood of Seymour, Indiana and Todd Fleetwood and his wife Tracy of Booneville, Indiana. One brother, Gene Fleetwood of Seymour, Indiana. Two sisters, Dorcas Miller of Seymour, Indiana and Kathy Pyle and her husband Mike of Seymour, Indiana.

Two grandchildren, Carrie Butcher and her husband Dj and Stephine Martin. Three great grandchildren, Tyler Butcher, Andrew Butcher and Owen Butcher.

Sis-in-law, Doris Fleetwood of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Fleetwood and one sis-in-law, Doreen Fleetwood.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Freetown Church of Christ. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Dj Butcher will officiate. He will be laid to rest at ACME Cemetery.
