Elizabeth "Bette" Felts McGee
November 14, 1940 - May 19, 2017

Elizabeth "Bette" Felts McGee of Troutdale, Virginia entered into her eternal rest on May 19, 2017, at the Howard and Joan Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. She was born on November 14, 1940, and was the daughter of Joe Nick and Nell Felts of Galax, Virginia. A graduate of Galax High School she received her B.A. degree from Radford College.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Nicky, and her loving husband of 35 years, Thomas W. McGee, Jr.

She is survived by one sister, Hattie Bob Felts Wilson of Laurinburg, North Carolina; nieces Dawn Wilson Summerlin and Crystal Naff, one step-daughter Erin McGee Wooten of Elkin, North Carolina, two step-granddaughters Sarah Dinkins and Meredith Styers, great nieces Grayson Smith, Rachael and Lauren Naff, a great nephew, Sawyer Smith. A beloved cousin, Anne Herndon.

Bette was a devoted member of her church and served in several capacities there. She actively volunteered in her community, particularly the Wythe-Grayson Regional Library and the Grant Community Computer Center in Troutdale.

A service to honor Bette's life will be at Christ Episcopal Church, Sparta, North Carolina on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM.

The family will receive visitors during the reception following the service at Christ Episcopal Church before going to a private committal at the family Caldwell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to the Caldwell Cemetery Fund, C/O Piedmont Federal Savings and Loan in Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27106, the Galax Foundation for Excellence in Education Class of 1959, P.O. Box 487, Galax, Virginia 24333,or a charity of the donor's choice.

Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
