Lois Akers, 101, died at 2 am, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at her home in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Akers was born April 21, 1922 in Humansville, MO, daughter of Harry William and Polly Smith Walden.
She married the love of her life, Kenneth Akers, on July 15, 1939, in Clinton, Henry County, MO. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2015, at the age of 96.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Akers were long-time members of First Baptist Church in Arma, Kansas, until moving in with their daughter in Mt. Vernon in 2012.
Mrs. Akers was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, and her son, Kenneth Richard Akers.
