She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating with the Enid High School Class of 1966. She married Verlyn Ridgway in July of 1977 in Enid. The couple moved to Drummond in 1985 where they made their home. She was a second mother to her niece Jennifer and nephew Julian and a grandmother to their children. She worked in several positions in the community including daycares and worked as a dietary aide at St. Mary's Hospital for 23 years. She enjoyed riding horses and always had cats and dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years Verlyn, of the home; 2 sisters Jeanie Dutton, of Enid and Judy Markes, of San Diego, California; one brother Joe Purdue and wife Sharon, of Raleigh, North Carolina; one step-daughter Natalie and one-step son Jason, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jimmy; and step-daughter, Nicole.
