He left a will dated Feb 4, 1863 in Franklin County, Georgia naming his father David Carson and his father-in-law Henry F David as administrators per Georgia US Wills and Probate Records 1742-1922. US, Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Georgia, 1861-1865 show he died 21 May 1863 in Tennesse of wounds sustained in battle. Wife Lucy Artimesia David married second to David Dalrymple on 5 Sept 1866 in Banks County, GA (borders Franklin County) per Georgia Marriage Records from Select Counties 1828-1978.
