LD Boatright, a beloved educator, coach, and deeply cherished family man, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK, on September 28, 2023. He was born on July 17, 1946, in Sardis, OK to Loyce and Thelma (Herndon) Boatright.

LD was preceded in death by his loving parents, his dear sister Janice Alexander and her husband Charles, and his brother Roger Boatright.

He found tremendous joy and purpose in his family. LD is survived by his adoring wife, Agnes Boatright, whom he wed in Batangas City, Philippines, on June 27, 1999. He left behind a legacy of love for his children: Lori Nicholson and husband Kim of Edmond, OK, Becky Campbell and husband Scott of Edmond, OK, Dena Horne and husband Javin of New Waverly, TX, Cassie Barnes of Edmond, OK, Jones E. Boatright of Lahaina, HI, Adrian Boatright of McAlester, OK, Kisti Bodell and husband Stephen of Lansing, MI. He is also survived by his brother Jimmy Boatright and wife Linda of Daisy, OK, sister Francis Fuller and husband Gary of Clayton, OK, and brother Richard Boatright and wife Pam of Henryetta, OK. His love extended to eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

LD's dedication to education and community was unparalleled. In pursuit of his passion, he completed his Masters in Education and poured his heart into educating next-generation minds, and coaching sports, especially basketball.

LD was not just about work and family; he had an array of interests that made him the person he was. He loved riding his scooter and horses. Any spare moment would find him traveling, or enjoying his favorite treats: cornbread in milk or pineapple upside-down cake. Other times, he could be found indulging in his love for watching Western movies.

A devoted believer, LD's love for Jesus was profound. His faith was a guiding force in his life and integrated into the lives of his beloved family and the many students he taught. LD Boatright was, above all, a loving husband, father, and friend.

Services for LD will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 3PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma with Pastor Russ Bishop officiating.

Those that would like to visit with the family prior to the service are welcome as early as 1PM.

LD's wishes were to be cremated and buried in A.L. Stephens Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Batangas Saving Grace Project, Batangas Christian School, P.O. Box 820308 Fort Worth, Texas 76182-0208, a project reaching many children and families in the Philippines with the love of Jesus Christ.
