Nadia died during the Warsaw Uprising, as Germans were bombing the city.

She was the daughter of Joseph Matveev URBANOWICZ and his wife, Julia Veronica MIRONOWICZ. In 1923, she married Roman Aloysious ZDROJEWSKI (1894-1945). Two children were born to the marriage: Jerzy George ZDROJEWSKI (1925-1982) and Irena ZDROJEWSKA (1926-1990), who married Alojzy Aloysious SKORUPA (1923–1986).

In the Cmentarz Powstańców Warszawy, in Warsaw, Poland, there is a memorial to those who died in the 1944 Warsaw Uprising.
