Chico Enterprise-Record, Saturday, November 24, 1956: "William Charles Bader. William Charles Bader, a lifetime resident of Butte County, died early today at his home at 514 Ivy Street. He was 77.

"Born in 1879 in Magalia, Mr. Bader spent his life in the mining industry. In 1906, he was married to Melinda Robinson of Mendocino County.

"In addition to his wife, Mr. Bader is survived by one son, Harold A. Bader; one brother, Charles Bader of Vacaville; three sisters, Mabel Kroeger of Oroville, Hilda Futz of Oakland, and Eva Storey of Sacramento, and several nieces and nephews.

"Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Christian Service Society Cemetery on the old Oroville Road southeast of Chico. Rev. Nathan McFarland, of the Apostolic Gospel Temple, will officiate."

Rev. Nathan McFarland officiated. Casketbearers were E.C. Robinson, Bert Gribble, Ray Bearse, John Gray, Joseph Haynes and W.R. Hixson."
