* Sarah was the dau of Elihu and Sarah (Baker) Alderman of Rushville, Ohio.
* The family migrated to Jackson County, OH (early 1840s) where Sarah married John Grubb, 14 Mar 1844 in nearby Scioto County, OH.
* The couple had a son, ECF Alderman Grubb, b. 13 Dec 1846 in Ohio.
* The family migrated to Iowa where a daughter, Rosetta, was born - 1848.
* John Grubb deserted the family before 1853 when he joined a Missouri wagon train headed for the Oregon Territory.

* Sarah Ann's grave is in Indian Creek Cemetery, next to two of her children:
- Sarah D Arnold d. March 19, 1864 - 1 day
- Theodore M Arnold died Sept 3 1862 - 1 yr
Two cemetery records each give different DMY of Sarah's death.
