*Elihu was born Aug 1792 in the Genesee Valley of New York to Elisha and Thankful (Huff) Alderman. Abt. 1810, traveling on a large hand-built river raft, Elihu migrated from Genesee to the new Ohio territory with his parents and extended family.
*Feb 1821 Elihu marries Sarah Baker in Athens, Ohio.
*In 1837, records show Elihu buys land in Lick Co, Ohio. Four years later, his eldest daughter, Mary Ann, marries in Scioto to Rodman Lewis who lives with his parents a few miles from the Alderman farm. Four years after that his other daughter, Sarah Ann, also marries in Scioto to John Grubb who hails from Champaign, OH.
* In 1850, three of Alderman brothers, Elisha, Elihu & Milton (sons of Elisha & Thankful Alderman), Mary Ann and her new husband have moved to Ft Madison, Lee, Iowa; as have the Lewis family. Eilhu, joins his sons but dies in Ft Madison.
*Elihu's wife re-marries (James C Smith).
*The Alderman families move north to Story County.
