Marion Elizabeth Stanley, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on June 3, 2023. She was the wife of James Stanley Sr. sharing 57 years of marriage. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of Clarence and Maude Pleasants. She will be remembered as the woman who had the most kind and loving soul. She loved fishing, the word of God, her family, puzzles, playing dominoes, talking to everyone on the phone, and music. She is survived by her siblings Alma Salazar and Gerald Pleasants (Mabel), children Ronnie, Darlene, James (Lori), Thomas (Stephanie), Debora (Jimmy), 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Stanley Sr., sister Jane Lohr, son Wayne Askew, her grandsons Timothy Dunivan and Donnie Watson, and great-granddaughter Heaven Askew.
Visitation will be held at Lacy Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8 from 6-8pm. Graveside service will be held at Spring Grove Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, June 9 at 1pm.
