Eleanor Selena Arrington, fulfilled her earthly assignment and received her Heavenly Wings on December 23, 2018 in Norfolk, VA. She was born on November 20, 1958 in Norfolk, VA. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, the late Fred L. and Sennie T. Arrington, her sister Gracie A. Dean, and brother Wendell Arrington.
Eleanor, with a gentle spirit, loved all and gave with a heart of gold. She took little and gave a lot. Her laughter, smile, and love gave her strength to climb every mountain and face every challenge that life presented with victory.
She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk, VA. She received her Bachelor's in Social Work from Norfolk State University. She worked at the Norfolk Community Services Board for 27 years as a Mental Health Counselor. Determined to continue giving, she continued providing her genuine care, laughter, and love to the children at Bayview Elementary School while currently working for Norfolk Public School System.
She leaves to cherish her memory are two children; Deyonna B. Arrington of Virginia Beach, VA, and Dion B. Arrington of Chesapeake, VA; four grandchildren Cush A. Gray, Calah A. Gray, Cyla D. Gray, and Cemet A. Gray; six sisters, Sadie M. Arrington of Long Beach, CA, Brenda A. Banks (Dolphus) of Quincy, FL, Vernell Arrington, Doris Arrington, and Teresa R. Arrington, all of Norfolk, VA and Katherine A. Wright of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, Frederick L. Arrington (Linda) of Las Vegas, NV and James E. Arrington of Norfolk, VA; two aunts, Jerlene T. Murphy of Harrells, NC and Marie C. Treadwell of Long Beach, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
