He was a member of New Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for over 40 years for various companies including Sanders Provision, William H. Swan, Tidewater Produce, and U.S. Mail.
He is predeceased by his wife, Carrie Staton Arrington, and sister, Gracie A. Dean.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son Wendell Arrington of Norfolk; one stepson Michael D. Staton(Jamica), of Warner Robins, GA; seven sisters, Sadie Arrington of Long Beach, CA, Brenda Banks(Dolphus) of Quincy, FL, twin sister Vernell Arrington, Doris Arrington, and Teresa Arrington, all of Norfolk, VA, Eleanor Arrington and Katherine Arrington Wright of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers Frederick Arrington(Linda) of Anchorage, Alaska and James Arrington of Norfolk, VA; and two brother-in-laws Richard Dean and Joseph Wright, Sr., five grandchildren, James Staton, Beatrice Releford, Lydia Releford, Carrie Staton, and Michael Staton; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 12 noon in the chapel of Hale Funeral Home with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
