Irene attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where she met her future husband, Milton T. Blehm. While there, she was awarded an associate degree in secretarial work.
Milton and Irene were married in South Dakota on August 21, 1950. They had three children, David, born in 1951, Steven, born in 1953, and Cheryl, born in 1955. They eventually settled in Bismarck, North Dakota but moved back to the Ft. Collins/Loveland area in 1980.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Emma, her husband Milton, son David, daughter-in-law Linda, and siblings (Ruth, Gubby, Eldora, Gertie, Esther, Elton, and Marie).She is survived by her son, Steven, of Staunton, Virginia, her daughter,Cheryl and son-in-law, Bernie Poskus, of Broomfield, Colorado, her daughter-in-law, Julie, of Fargo, North Dakota, her grandson, Benjamin, of Tucson, Arizona, and her granddaughters Vera, of Mineral, Virginia, Maggie, of Staunton, Virginia, Sarah, of Richmond, Virginia, and Amy of Fargo, North Dakota. Irene also has five great grandchildren (Lina, Dottie, Linden, Collins, and Margaret). She is also survived by her brother, Donnie Reimann of Miller, South Dakota.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow on September 13, 2023 at Allnutt Funeral Service – Hunter Chapel, Loveland, Colorado.
