Vergie Smith Fussell, 97, went home to be with her Heavenly Father and family on Saturday, May 13, 2017. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Mausoleum Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with entombment in the Mausoleum. Charlie Simmons will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time and asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Mrs. Fussell had lived in Lizella since 1979 after retiring from Connecticut and moving to Georgia. She was a member of AARP and The Senior Bowling League where she continued bowling until she was ninety one years of age.
Vergie was preceded in death by her husband, Reno; son, Donald; sister, Mildred Ryan; and brothers, Edgar, Etheridge and Charlie Smith.
Survivors include one daughter;one grandson; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, a number of nieces and nephews.
