Charlie E. Smith -HAZLEHURST - Charles E. Smith, 76, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005, after an extended illness. Services will be 11A.M., on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in the chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Burial will be in Telfair Memorial Gardens in McRae, Georgia. -Mr. Smith was born on November 13, 1928 and was the son of the late John W. and Margie Brewer Smith of Lumber City, GA, He was a World War II Army Veteran. -He is survived by four daughters; two grandchildren; his former wife; two sisters; 2 brothers ; a brother-in-law; sister-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews. -He was preceded in death by one brother, Etheridge Smith of East Haven, CT and one sister-in-law Ruby Mercer of Moultrie. -Miles Funeral Home, Hazlehurst.
