Lawrence Burris Brown, 79, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 14, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 17 at Mt. Union Baptist Church in Clarkrange, TN, with interment in the Campground Cemetery. Bro. John David Wilson officiated.
Mr. Brown was born Sept. 18, 1924 in Overton County, the son of Harley James Brown and Mary Alice Wilson Brown of Crossville.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a factory worker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Betty Brown of Robbins, TN, Phillip and Judy Brown of Nashville, Steven and Sheila Brown of Crossville and Randall Brown of Morristown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hanson and Helen Brown of Nashville, MI, Clarence Brown of Sparta and Noel and Brenda Brown of Crossville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Chuck Ritter of Crossville, Norma Jean and Fred Donathan, Emma Cline of Albany, IN, Imogene and Gene Fuller of Sparta and Dorothy and Johnny Marshall of Bluffton, IN; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Hamilton Brown; brothers, William (Bill) Brown and Owen Brown; and granddaughter, Deborah Williams.
Pallbearers were Neal Potter, Wade Potter, Tony Brown, Stephen M. Brown, Joseph Brown, Billy Holt and Jeramie Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Brown, Matthew Brown and Donavon Brown.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
