She was born on October 13, 1913, to the late Carl and Frances Knecht in Waterbury. She did volunteer work and was a Girl Scout leader. She was also active in the Alliance Community where she lived. She graduated from high school in the Bridgeport school system and worked as a dietician. She was a member of the Huntington Congregational Church.
She is survived by her husband, Wilford; daughter, Sally Liu of Colorado; two grandchildren, Derrick and Celia Liu; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant son, Donald; brothers, Carl and George Knecht; and sisters, Emma and Marge Ray.
Her remains will be interred at the Upper White Hills Cemetery in Shelton, on Thursday, September 13, 2001, at 11 a.m. A memorial service will be held by the Rev. Gregory Schmidt of the Shelton Congregational Church at the grave site.
