Deretta was born in McHenry,Maryland where she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Ruth A. (Glotfelty) Brenneman. At the time of her passing, she was a resident of Accident, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Duckworth; one daughter, Sally R. Coddington; one great-grandson, Atticus Joseph McKenzie; and two brothers, Elwood and Webster Brenneman.
She was a member of the McHenry United Methodist Church, past president of the McHenry Homemakers Club, a charter member of Deep Creek Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Garrett County Farm Bureau.
She is survived by one son; one daughter; seven grandchildren,; and eight great-grandchildren.
