MIDWAY-Our dear, sweet, precious mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully from Causes Incident to Age on Monday, April 7, 2008, at the home of daughter, Colleen Alder Larson, West Jordan, Utah. Mom celebrated her 95th birthday on April 2. She kept her wonderful sense of humor until the end - telling us jokes, reciting funny poems, and singing "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck." Della was born April 2, 1913 in Charleston, UT, to Moroni and Susie Mabel Giles Winterton. She married Clyde H. Alder of Midway, UT on Sept. 5, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple, spending 67 years together. Clyde passed away Jan. 28, 2001. Mom took every opportunity to better her life and serve others. She was an award winning artist, homemaker, quilter and seamstress. Della brought joy to others sharing her talents. Mom and Dad served an LDS Mission in Lake Okeechobee, FL and served many years in the Provo Temple.

Della is survived by six children, Calvin (Joan) Alder, Lewiston, ID; Wayne (Janet) Alder, Grace, ID (serving LDS mission in Nova Scotia, Canada); Boyd (Alice) Alder, Santa Clara, CA; Marilyn (Lynn) Rasband, Midway, UT; Colleen (David) Larson, West Jordan, UT; Kathy (Tom) Howe, Spring, TX; and her sister, Beth Crook. She is survived by 30 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mother thought each child was special and beautiful - she loved her family dearly. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde, parents, brothers, Allen and Vernon Winterton; sisters, Lucille Peterson and Vera Thomas. The family expresses gratitude to Colleen (daughter) and David Larson for their loving and tender care. A very special "thank you" to Joni Jensen for her tireless tender care. Thanks to Harmony Hospice and Legacy Retirement Center.

Viewings will be held Friday April 11 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 11:30-12:30 p.m. at the Midway 1st Ward Chapel, 250 East 200 South. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m. at the same location.
Interment: Midway City Cemetery.
