June 22, 1937 - August 23, 2023

Evelyn Jeannine Horn, 86, Passed away quietly in her sleep Aug 23, at the Cottage of the Meadow Hospice care in Yakima, Washington. She was born June 22 1937, in La Grande, Oregon, to Charles Eugene Wilson and Urania Elizabeth Hunter. She was preceded in death By her parents, and her older brother, Earl Eugene Wilson, and sister, Eleanor Irene (Wilson) Campbell, both of La Grande.

Evelyn leaves her brother, Edwyn Joseph "Buddy" Wilson of La Grande; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Ann (Wilson) Snell of Dale, Oregon husband Jerry Morgan Horn of Yakima, Washington; daughter, Annette Elaine (Wagner) Dickson and husband, Charles Randy Dickson of Meacham, Oregon; daughter, Jeannine Raennette Hunt of Kenai, Alaska; son John Robert Wagner and wife, Julia Irene (Boushey) Wagner, of Grass Valley, California; daughter, Trisha Anne (Wagner) Hattery; stepdaughter, Cindy Lou (Horn) Gibbs and husband, Darren Michael Gibbs, of Albany, Oregon; stepson, Michael Tory Horntvedt and wife, Joy Ann (Higman) Horntvedt, of Olalla, Washington; and 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn attended school in La Grande, Oregon, and worked at Payless Drugs in La Grande as well as in Anacortes, Washington. In the years prior to her retirement, she was a real estate associate broker in Lake Stevens, Washington. Ev was interested in many things, including sewing, quilting, painting and gardening. She also spent numerous weekends exploring Northwest back roads with her husband and friends, and in her spare time she studied to become an extra class amateur radio operator. Evelyn was quiet a gal, and we love her with all our hearts. She will be sadly missed.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at Hillcrest East Cemetery, across the street from 600 S. 12th St., La Grande, Oregon. Afterward we will meet up at Denny's restaurant, 2604 Island Ave., La Grande, for a late lunch, dessert and refreshments.
